Bud had reached his breaking point with the way rainwater was behaving around his home in Cumming, GA. Every storm sent water rushing out of an above-ground downspout and straight into his landscaping, slowly washing it away and leaving behind puddles that demanded constant attention. Looking for a permanent fix, Bud called Gutter Shutter of Greater Atlanta, and Ariel came out to assess the situation firsthand.

After evaluating the existing setup, the solution was clear: the downspout needed to be extended and redirected underground to properly move water away from the home. The Gutter Shutter team got to work, digging a long trench from the left rear corner of the house to house the new drainage system. As part of the upgrade, they also replaced a section of gutter with a sturdy 6" K-style gutter in musket brown, improving both flow capacity and curb appeal.

The project included installing a wide-mouth outlet, a musket brown 3x4 downspout, and 4" PVC underground lawn extensions, along with removing and disposing of 25 linear feet of old gutter. Once completed, rainwater finally had a clear, efficient path away from Bud’s home. The erosion stopped, the pooling disappeared, and Bud could finally enjoy his yard again, rain or shine.

Mr. Kiran called Gutter Shutter of Greater Atlanta to resolve water issues around their new home.  Water runoff from neighboring homes created long standing water and mud around the home.  The conditions were not ideal for the foundation, nor a young active family.

The customer reached out to Gutter Shutter of Greater Atlanta to solve an issue they were having on the deck level. The way their current gutter is installed and with the way the house is designed, they needed a special downspout created to solve their water draining issues. 

The first photo will show how the underdeck lacks proper drainage. We made 2 custom downspouts for the customer. Now the water is draining away from the deck and the foundation.
